Welcome to St Stephen’s!

St Stephen’s is a church that welcomes people from any culture, and from any church background or none. As an Anglican Church we value scripture, tradition, reason, and experience. We encourage questions, since they lead to deeper understanding.

Many of our people are young families. We have a Mother and Toddler Group which meets on Monday -Thursday mornings, and very active Cubs and Brownies.

As well as being a place to meet people and find new friends, St Stephen’s is a place of prayer. Here we can bring our hopes and fears, our desires and troubles, before God. Each Sunday we meet to receive God in Word, in Spirit, in the breaking of bread, and in each other; and we seek the strength to renew our lives of service and love in our families, our communities, and the world.

St Stephen’s Chapel is in the grounds of St Stephen’s College, and we enjoy close links with the school. School families are very welcome here.

For many years St Stephen’s has been involved in Christian ministry at Stanley Prison, and this continues today.
